According to my messages, my last lessons were in:
2011/2012 – I had violin lessons for a few months in 2011 from April until (possibly) June, and again in 2012 (I’m not sure of the months, but from possibly September to December).
2016 – I joined Bird College for piano and violin lessons (also started with singing lessons, had maybe two or three, but the teacher left, and I just increased the minutes of piano and violin instead of getting my money back). I had the lessons termly from May to July, and from September to December.
2022 – These were online lessons with a tutor I found on Fiverr from January until July.
I ended my online violin lessons. I originally wanted to learn ABRSM violin to eventually take exams, but somehow we ended up doing Suzuki violin. I found the pieces she gave me way too hard, and I dreaded practice! I told her, but she didn’t listen. I ended the lessons, and I immediately started with another teacher on Fiverr. He increased his prices on me during. I just had to continue (well, I felt that way). I ended my online violin lessons with him as I found him quite strict. He was friendly in his own way, though. I also guess I just felt like I wasn’t progressing. We were doing random Czech pieces.
2024 – These were in-person lessons from January until May, and I could only afford a lesson every two weeks. Unfortunately, she moved, so she could only offer online lessons. I knew I could get online lessons cheaper on Fiverr, and the only reason why I wanted to work with her was because she was a local in-person tutor. So I stopped.
I barely touched the violin until I restarted today in November 2025! Violin just feels like home, I must admit. I’m so glad to be back at it, and from what I can tell, the teacher is good, pls I’m finally learning ABRSM!
