So, I had my first in-person group class in over two years yesterday. It was with a ballet school aimed towards children, but adults can join. I wrote about wanting to join this class in this post.

It was great! The teacher was really hands-on. Actually, part of the class was teaching us how to plie, and she got two large resistance bands. One student held one on another student’s leg, and the teacher had one on the other leg. She told her to plie, and they both pulled the resistance band. This was done with all four of us, to show us that plies pull outwards, if that makes sense.

We also practised the jumps section on the wall! Our feet were in first position against the wall as we were sitting, and all at once had to shoot backwards, pointing our toes. Points went to the person who went back the furthest!

All in all, it was a great class, and I’m going to pay for the rest of the term (which is only one more week, but still!). Then come September, I can fully get dug in!

Oh yeah! Remember I said I was going to do a Graham technique class that was held yesterday? Well, as I knew I was going to the school, I didn’t sign up. It was such a hot day, and I didn’t want to feel how I felt last week! Especially knowing I would have to leave the house an hour or so later and then dance again! As mentioned, I’m planning on doing the grade 4 next week too. We’ll see what the weather is like and whether I can do the Horton technique class.
