Remember my first ballet classes back in November 2025? The RAD grade 3 and grade 4? Well, I told you she went on hiatus because of surgery. Well a few months ago, she posted a message on Skool saying she’s no longer offering them and going in a new direction.

Agggh!

I had four private ballet lessons learning some RAD grade 3 and 4 exercises back in April. This was in preparation for restarting the classes from the Australian teacher (online). I wanted to know the exercises well, so she could work on correcting me, rather than teaching me, or just me flopping through it, then onto the next exercise.

Well, I asked the teacher on Fiverr if she’s free to go through the whole syllabi seeing that the Australian teacher is no longer teaching it. She was, but she pretty much ghosted me! She was only free on the weekends as she works for a ballet company during the week (she even has rehearsals on Saturday but she manages to squeeze me in). Sundays are my free day so I don’t like to have classes on that day (perhaps Yoga in the morning, but that’s it).  Perhaps it’s for the best, but I have an alternative teacher who I can contact. Someone I contacted last year actually, but couldn’t do it as I needed space, and my brother was staying in my living room. He has since moved out so I can contact her again. Plus, she’s relatively cheap, though not as cheap as group classes, but I get full attention. I kind of got full attention before though because there were only two and one other students in each of the classes with the Australian teacher.

Oh! Also a couple of weeks ago, I emailed a school I had contacted last year regarding going to a ballet school where I could learn the RAD syllabus alongside kids. To be honest, I wasn’t ready to regularly leave the house back then, but now, several months in my ballet journey, I’m ready!

I told her that I was worried about joining the class with students who may be leaps and bounds ahead of me. She said she understood my worries, and that in a current particular class, they are still doing the introduction so I was welcome to join. This was so encouraging! So I plan to enrol in a trial one of these Tuesday’s. Wish me luck!
